Cupping competition & frozen coffee bar – our highlights of Berlin Coffee Week

Immerse yourself in the world of specialty coffee – at Berlin Coffee Week 2025 (September 22 to 25), you can expect plenty of coffee action, talented baristas, and the chance to taste unique, top-quality coffees. We will be presenting three highlights, including a cupping competition.

It's almost that time again: Berlin Coffee Week will transform our capital into a specialty coffee paradise from September 22 to September 25. For one week, everything will revolve around exceptional flavors, exciting encounters, the latest news from the scene, and the diversity of the specialty coffee scene. Whether it's cupping challenges, brewing sessions with Berlin's top baristas, or the Frozen Coffee Brew Bar – there are opportunities to rediscover coffee everywhere. We will also be there with our own program in Berlin Mitte and have come up with some great events.

The Highlight: Cupping Competition

Ethiopia, Kenya, Brazil, or Honduras – would you like to see how we source our coffee before we release a new blend? Then come to this special event: the Cupping Competition is our highlight of Berlin Coffee Week. On September 24 at 4:30 p.m., we invite you to join us and our partners Mahlkönig, Volcafe, and BWT for a very special cupping with up to 24 participants. Each participant will blind taste 10 different coffees and try to match them to their correct countries of origin. The competition will run in two rounds: the best 8 cuppers will advance to the final, where the winner of the title and a brand new Mahlkönig X64 SD coffee grinder will be decided. Come by, taste, evaluate, and win!

Frozen Coffee Brew Bar

Once frozen, forever preserved: our frozen coffees are making a comeback! Over the past year, we have frozen selected rarities at their peak of flavor—and now we are opening up our archives for you. Here you have the unique opportunity to try rare and particularly valuable coffees—carefully stored in our freezer to capture their flavors at the perfect moment. An event for anyone who fancies a rare taste experience – and only while stocks last. 👉 Please register via Eventbrite for a fixed time slot so that you can enjoy the tasting in peace and without any rush.

Admission is €8 – this includes the complete guided tasting and a goodie bag for participants. On the day, you will also receive a special discount on our Frozen Coffee Box, which comes with instructions and the necessary equipment so you can easily freeze coffee at home.

Open Showroom with Ivo

It's such a magical moment when freshly ground coffee flows from the portafilter into your favorite cup. You can find some of the best espresso machines in the world right here at our roastery on Ackerstraße in Berlin-Mitte. Come experience them live with co-founder and certified coffee sommelier Ivo in our open showroom on September 23. The focus will be on models from La Marzocco, which has been synonymous with quality and craftsmanship for decades. The selection is complemented by innovative hybrid coffee machines from Eversys, iconic grinders from Mahlkönig, and high-end portafilter machines from Victoria Arduino. Whether for your home setup or your café, you'll find the right machines and receive personal advice right on site.

And afterwards: Berlin Coffee Festival – You choose, we roast

Taste, vote & decide – we present: The Peoples Roast. Following Berlin Coffee Week (September 22-25), we will be organizing an exclusive event at the Berlin Coffee Festival (September 26-27) in the beautiful Atelier Gardens in Berlin-Tempelhof, right next to Tempelhofer Feld. How does it work? Together with our roasting team, you will taste a selection of 8–10 exciting coffees and help decide which one will be our next release. Aroma, taste, texture, and overall impression – you will evaluate the coffees according to various criteria. Then you will cast your vote, and we will roast and release the winning coffee later this year. On top of that, all participants will receive an exclusive discount on their order of the winning coffee as soon as it is available. So let's get started!
