Get inspired and discover different coffee cocktails created by Vladyslav Demonenko from Ukraine, the current runner-up in Coffee in Good Spirits. For our Coffee Cocktail Box, we've selected four excellent recipes from Vlad's universe. All drinks showcase a range of Christmas flavors. Merci, Vlad!
Drink no 1: Milky Way
From a premix prepared by us with banana liqueur "Giffard Banane du Brésil", Sherry "Ximenez" and specially created acid, becomes a glamorous digestif par excellence. You add Cold Brew X and coffee from Finca El Izotal. Everything is included in the box. The result is super creamy, with a texture reminiscent of a Milky Way bar. You can expect rotating flavors of tropical fruits, melon, mango as well as white grapes
How To Mix
Step 1: Brew 20g of El Izotal filter coffee beans from bag #1. For this you can use the following recipe for the hand filter:
Freshly grind coffee and brew with 180ml of filtered water at 93-95°C. Pour evenly 3 x 60g of water, always wait until the water has run through.
Tip: You can also use another brewer with the same Brew Ratio, e.g. the AeroPress or French Press. If you don’t have everything ready to brew your filter coffee by hand, you can also use a filter coffee maker.
Step 2: Fill a mixing glass or coffee server with the pre-mixed ingredients from Premix tube #1 and add 20ml of Cold Brew X coffee liqueur.
Step 3: Now add 180ml of your freshly brewed filter coffee and gently stir. Pour into the cocktail glass and enjoy your drink warm.
Drink no 2: Coffee Sour
A twist of sweetness and acidity that particularly highlights the refreshing notes of coffee. Vlad's Coffee Sour is a drink that always goes, with notes of cherries, pomegranate, and milk chocolate making it the perfect base for a fruity-sweet masterpiece. The premix is rum-based ("Tiki Lover's Pineapple Rum"), acid mix and vegan Foam Maker. Cold Brew X and instant coffee included in the box are added fresh.
How To Mix
Step 1: Pour instant coffee from the blue packaging #2 into a large cup or server, add 50ml of hot water and stir gently. Set aside.
Step 2: Add the premix from tube #2 to a shaker or other sealable container, 20ml of Cold Brew X, instant coffee, optional fruit juice, and plenty of ice cubes and shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds.
Tip: 30ml of your favorite fruit juice gives this sour a fresh, varying twist. Vlad particularly recommends cherry or pineapple juice.
Step 3: Double strain: Pour the liquid through a fine strainer into the glass without ice cubes. While doing so, retain the ice from the shaker. Enjoy your drink cold.
Drink no 3: Christmas Parfum
Whether after a long walk or as a warming digestif, this creation exudes Christmas magic with high-class ingredients that harmonize perfectly and together evoke bergamot, apple, red berries and cocoa. The premix includes dry gin from Berliner Brandstifter, cassis liqueur, a drop of edible bergamot concentrate and and elderflower syrup. Freshly brewed, filter coffee and finally some Cold Brew X are added.
